Frequently asked questions.

If you are new to Osteopathy or our clinic you might have some questions.

  • Osteopathy takes a holistic approach to health, recognising the vital role the musculoskeletal system plays in our overall well-being. Osteopaths look at how muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, and connective tissues work in harmony—and how even small imbalances can ripple through the body, affecting other areas. It’s all about helping the body move better, feel better, and function at its best.

  • Your first appointment with us is all about understanding you and your unique needs. We’ll begin with a friendly chat about your health history, current symptoms, and daily lifestyle to get a clear picture of what’s going on. This is followed by a gentle physical assessment. If treatment is suitable, it may include techniques like soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, dry needling or stretches. All treatment techniques will be tailored to your needs and goals. Our goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and on the path to better movement and health.

  • Your comfort is our priority and we understand how important that is.

Generally, you will not need to fully undress for an osteopathic appointment with us, but you may be asked to remove some clothing to allow us to assess and treat the affected area. You will be given privacy to undress and can request a towel for coverage.

However, we can still treat you with clothing on.

  • Just yourself! If you have any relevant medical records or imaging reports feel free to bring them along with you as they may assist with diagnosis and treatment.

  • Yes. Depending on your level of private health insurance and extras your osteopathy treatment will be covered.

  • Depending on your presenting complaint we typically allow 45-60 minutes for your first consultation and 30 minutes for each session after that.
